Istanbul Police Department’s Anti-Smuggling Department has launched an operation against suspects who were identified as profiting unfairly by bringing products into the country through illegal means and releasing them on the market. As part of the operation, 8 suspects were detained in Bayrampasa, Bakirkoy, Gaziosmanpasa, Bahcelievler, and Zeytinburnu after raids on warehouses and businesses were conducted.

During the searches carried out at the identified addresses, 269 steering wheels belonging to various car brands and 4,477 auto spare parts were seized. The operation also uncovered luxury car spare parts, which were displayed for the press at the Istanbul Police Department’s headquarters on Vatan Street.

The suspects are currently undergoing procedures at the police department, and investigations are ongoing. It is believed that the suspects were part of a larger operation involving the illegal trade of car parts and accessories imported into the country.

This operation highlights the efforts of the Istanbul Police Department to crack down on smuggling activities and ensure fairness in the market. The seizure of a large number of spare parts and steering wheels indicates the scale of the operation and the potential impact it could have had on the local economy.

The operation serves as a warning to those engaged in smuggling activities, as law enforcement agencies continue to work tirelessly to track down and apprehend individuals involved in illegal trade. The Istanbul Police Department’s Anti-Smuggling Department is committed to taking strong action against those seeking to profit unfairly at the expense of honest businesses and consumers.

As the investigation progresses, more details are expected to emerge regarding the extent of the smuggling operation and the individuals involved. The police department urges anyone with information related to smuggling activities to come forward and assist in the effort to combat illegal trade in the region.
