According to a statement from the Governorship, a search was conducted in a truck stopped at the Beyazağaç Gendarmerie Checkpoint.
In the cargo area of the truck, 5 peacocks hidden in sacks were found, identified as being brought into the country illegally.
The authorities confiscated the birds and informed the Yüksekova Nature Conservation and National Parks Chief.
The NCNP teams arrived at the checkpoint and took custody of the birds.
The driver of the truck was fined administratively for the violation.
