Philadelphia police are searching for two suspects involved in a shooting that took place on Friday night. The incident occurred on the 7100 block of Old York Road, where a 31-year-old man was shot in the chest and left in critical condition. Dash camera footage from the victim’s vehicle captured the suspects in a black Nissan Murano stopping at a traffic light before one of the suspects approached the victim’s vehicle with a gun. The victim was able to defend himself by firing at least two shots before the suspects fled the scene in their vehicle.
One of the suspects is described as a Black man wearing a black Balaclava-style mask, black zip-up jacket, white shirt, black or gray pants, and a black belt. The other suspect is described as a Black man with a heavy build and full beard, wearing a black skull cap, large glasses with black frames, black hooded “Nike” jacket, gray sweatpants, and black and white sneakers. The suspects were last seen driving north on Old York Road into Cheltenham Township. Police are advising the public not to approach the suspects but to call 911 immediately if they are spotted. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department anonymously.
The dash camera video showed the suspect approaching the victim’s vehicle and pointing a gun at him. The victim quickly realized the danger and fired back, causing the suspect to retreat and flee in the vehicle with his accomplice. The footage also captured additional gunshots coming from the victim’s car as the suspects drove away. The driver of the Murano appeared to be getting out of the car before quickly getting back inside once the shooting started.

They are also offering a confidential tip line where individuals can call or text with information. The department is working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the shooting in order to bring them to justice.
