The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change’s Meteorology General Directorate’s Weather Forecast Specialist Mehmet Özdemirci provided an evaluation on the weather for the week including the Ramadan Feast. Ozdemirci mentioned that tomorrow, thundery showers and thunderstorms are expected in the south and east of the country. He stated, “Intermittent showers will be effective in the inner parts of the Western Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, the south and east of Inner Anatolia, the southeast and east of Eastern Anatolia Region, and the inner parts of Eastern Black Sea. We expect the rainfall to be occasionally heavy especially on the eve of the feast in the east of the Mediterranean, the overall Southeastern Anatolia Region, and the south and east of Hakkari, Şırnak, and Van.”

Ozdemirci emphasized the need for caution regarding heavy rainfall in these regions and called for residents to be careful and take precautions. He continued, “On the first day of the feast, intermittent rainfall will be seen in the south and east of our country. Thundery showers will be seen in the inner parts of the Western Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, the south and east of Inner Anatolia, the southeast and east of Eastern Anatolia Region, and the inner parts of Eastern Black Sea. We expect the rainfall to be occasionally heavy in Hakkari, Şırnak, Bitlis, Muş, Batman, and Siirt surroundings. On the second day of the feast, intermittent showers will be seen in the eastern regions of our country, and on the third day of the feast, intermittent showers will be seen in the inner and southern parts of the country. Rainfall will mainly be in the south and east regions, while the north and west regions will experience partly cloudy and sunny weather.”

Ozdemirci stated that the rainfall will intermittently affect the entire country for a week. He also addressed the weather in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, mentioning that no rainfall is expected in the three major cities throughout the week. Ozdemirci said, “Partly cloudy and cloudy weather will prevail in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir.” He also mentioned that temperatures will increase in the north and east regions starting from the next day and will occasionally exceed seasonal norms across the country.
