The weekend weather will be characterized by two main factors: heat and rain showers in the northern Iberian Peninsula, moving from west to east, according to Rubén del Campo, spokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). High temperatures, exceeding 30° in the central, eastern, and southern regions, will continue, values more typical of June and 5° to 10° higher than normal. A small cold front passing through the northern Peninsula will bring rain showers, potentially strong, on Friday and Saturday in the northwest and on Sunday in the northeast. The following week will be cooler with rain expected in the northern regions.

Thursday saw temperatures reach 34° in areas such as the Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys, with Friday expected to be the warmest day of the week, reaching 34° again in these valleys and over 30° in much of the central, southern, and Ebro regions. In the afternoon, storms may intensify in Galicia, southern Asturias, and northwest Castilla y León due to increased instability in the northwest. Saturday will see cloudy skies in the northwest due to the cold front, with stormy showers possible in the interior regions of Galicia, Cantabrian communities, and Castilla y León. Temperatures will drop in the northwest but remain above 30° in other regions.

On Sunday, rain showers will move eastward affecting Cantabrian regions, eastern Castilla y León, La Rioja, Navarra, Aragon, and mountainous areas in the east. Temperatures will drop in Galicia, the Cantabrian area, and parts of eastern Castilla y León. The week will begin with a continuation of heat and rain showers in the north as a front moves through, with more rain expected in Galicia, the Cantabrian region, Pyrenees, and upper Ebro regions. Temperature variations will be significant, with Coruña and Lugo dropping below 20°, Bilbao at 28° to 30°, and Guadalquivir at 33°.

From Tuesday, cooler air from the North Atlantic will lead to a noticeable decrease in temperatures in the north, resulting in rain showers in the northern third for most of the week, possibly snow in the Pyrenees. Temperatures will drop by up to 10° in parts of the northern half, staying below 20° in regions like Galicia, the Cantabrian region, and Navarra. Further south, temperatures may rise above 30° or 32° due to warm winds. Rain showers will continue in the north, possibly snowing in the Pyrenees, while the rest will see stable weather.

The following days will see similar conditions, with Atlantic fronts affecting the northern regions, possible snow in the Pyrenees, and chance of showers in eastern mountainous systems. Clear skies will prevail in the rest of the country with temperatures gradually rising but not expected to reach the highs of the weekend. In the Canary Islands, the weekend will see clear skies and pleasant temperatures, but strong to very strong winds from the north and northeast. From Tuesday, the northeast winds will bring light rain to the northern islands with slightly cooler temperatures overall.
