Uber released its annual Lost & Found Index, showing the most common and surprising items left behind by passengers. The top 10 most forgotten items included clothing, luggage, headphones, wallets, and phones. The most forgetful cities were found to be Miami, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. In addition to typical lost and found items, some unique belongings were reported as lost, such as a frontal hair toupee, hot sauce, two containers of spiders, and a Beyoncé fold-up fan.

Some other unusual items that Uber riders have lost over the past year include a jar of oysters, a police-grade handcuffs, a pet turtle, and a framed Taylor Swift autograph. The report also revealed that the most forgetful day of the year was Jan. 21 and lost items were most frequently reported between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Uber advised riders to call the driver or report the incident through the app in order to retrieve their lost items, whether it be a pet turtle, a Beyoncé fan, or even a whole smoked pork belly.

The list of unique lost items continued with a small rat skeleton prop, a candle that says “See you in court,” and a gray tub of surgical implants. Some other surprising lost belongings included a fake butt, a paternity test, a WWE championship belt, and a “Harry Potter” wand engraved with the name “Alexander.” Uber’s Lost & Found Index serves as a reminder for riders to be mindful of their belongings and how to retrieve lost items using the app, especially during times when forgetfulness may be more common.

In addition to the unique lost items, the index also highlighted some of the most accomplished Uber drivers in their first-ever “yearbook.” The report showed that Uber drivers across the country have come across a wide range of unusual items left behind by passengers, from a ceramic cat to a tray of meat pie. The index serves as a reminder to riders to check their surroundings before exiting an Uber ride to avoid leaving behind any valuable or sentimental items.

Overall, Uber’s Lost & Found Index sheds light on the common and unique items that passengers have left behind in their rides. With items ranging from police-grade handcuffs to waist beads and a burrito steamer, the index serves as a reminder for riders to double-check their belongings before exiting an Uber ride. By following the recommended steps to retrieve lost items through the app or by contacting the driver directly, riders have a better chance of reuniting with their lost possessions, no matter how unusual they may be.
