Russian attacks across Ukraine resulted in casualties and damage in various regions, including Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kherson, and Sumy. In Sumy Oblast, Russian forces targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, damaging critical facilities and causing the transfer to backup power.

Ukraine’s Air Force downed 12 Russian drones overnight that were launched from the neighboring Kursk Oblast of Russia and targeting Sumy Oblast. The drones were aimed at critical infrastructure in the northeast of Ukraine, including water supply and hospitals. The attacks on energy facilities in Sumy Oblast resulted in damage to a high-voltage facility owned by Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s state-owned energy operator. The attacks on Sumy Oblast were part of a broader campaign of Russian aggression across multiple regions in Ukraine.
