Former President Donald Trump delivered a fiery speech at a private luncheon held at his Mar-a-Lago club, where he referred to Democrats as running a Gestapo administration and compared President Joe Biden’s administration to Nazi Germany. Trump also accused the Biden administration of being behind the four criminal indictments he is currently facing. The fundraiser, which was the main attraction at the RNC’s annual retreat in Palm Beach, attracted hundreds of attendees, some of whom donated $40,000 or more.

During his speech, Trump used foul language and criticized special counsel Jack Smith and other prosecutors who have charged him with criminal indictments. He also boasted about his recent fundraising numbers and expressed his excitement about potential vice-presidential contenders, claiming that many were eager to serve as his running mate. Trump walked onto the stage to a song featuring individuals convicted for their roles in the January 6 Capitol attack, a track frequently played at his campaign rallies.

At one point during the event, Lara Trump, the former president’s daughter-in-law and Republican National Committee co-chair, presented him with a Billboard Music award for a song called “Justice for All,” which topped Billboard’s digital sales the previous year. Trump even gave attendees the chance to speak at the podium for a fee of $1 million, with two donors taking him up on the offer. One of the speakers claimed that God chose Trump to lead the country.

During his speech, Trump highlighted efforts by RNC chairman Michael Whatley to prevent cheating in the upcoming election and emphasized the need for an attorney general with courage. He also took the time to praise former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who Trump had commuted the prison sentence of in 2020. Blagojevich has since identified as a “Trumpocrat,” a Democrat who supports Trump. Later in the day, Trump hosted a birthday party for Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson at Mar-a-Lago, using the event to further discuss his campaign against Biden.

Overall, Trump’s speech at the fundraiser was marked by his usual combative and controversial style. He did not hold back in his criticism of Democrats and the Biden administration, and he continued to assert his belief that the criminal charges against him are politically motivated. With his strong language and bombastic demeanor, Trump energized his supporters and emphasized his commitment to fighting against perceived injustices and securing a victory in future elections.
