Prince William, Princess Kate, and their three children have access to multiple holiday homes, including Tamarisk House on St Mary’s in the Isles of Scilly. Prince William visited the house with the King and his brother Harry during a two-day visit to the southwest of England. This was his first overnight trip since Princess Kate received her cancer diagnosis. Tamarisk House is a royal holiday home that has been previously visited by Prince William as a child with his parents King Charles and Princess Diana, as well as later with his wife and children.

Tamarisk House is located on St Mary’s, the largest island in the Isles of Scilly, covering an area of just over six square miles with around 1,800 residents. The house is a mid-1960s property set in a quarter acre of land, featuring four bedrooms with stunning sea views. The property includes a family bathroom and en suite shower room in addition to a living room with a wood burner and a sun terrace overlooking the sea. Tamarisk House is now available for public rental through the Duchy of Cornwall, offering various amenities such as wifi, hi-fi, smart TVs, and a well-equipped kitchen, with prices ranging from £1,315 to £5,295 for a seven-night stay.

The Duchy of Cornwall, owned by the Prince of Wales, includes land, farms, houses, and other assets that generate income to support the Prince, his family, and his charitable activities. Prince William inherited the estate and the title of Duke of Cornwall following Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022. The Isles of Scilly are described as an “easy going safe haven of hidden treasures” with beautiful landscapes and coastal paths. Members of the Royal Family, including Prince William, have visited Tamarisk House in the past, enjoying the stunning views and tranquility of the surroundings.

During his visit to Cornwall, Prince William visited the Duchy of Cornwall’s first homeless housing project site in Newquay and later made an official visit to the Isles of Scilly, where Tamarisk House is located. He spent time at St Mary’s Harbour, run by the Duchy, and also visited St Mary’s Community Hospital. The trip marked his first official visit to the Isles of Scilly since becoming the Duke of Cornwall in September 2022. Tamarisk House is just one of many royal holiday homes available for rental within Cornwall, offering a unique and luxurious experience for guests looking to explore the region.
