A lawyer representing former Biden family business partner Tony Bobulinski threatened legal action against Rep. Dan Goldman for defamation. The threat was in response to a tweet made by Goldman accusing Bobulinski of making false allegations using a Trump campaign-paid lawyer since October 2020. The letter demanded that Goldman remove the post and retract his statement or face a lawsuit. Bobulinski’s lawyer, Jesse Binnall, emphasized that his client had not lied about his firsthand knowledge of the Biden family and that the claim that Bobulinski lied to federal investigators and Congress is defamatory.

The letter also refuted the statement that President Trump’s campaign had paid Bobulinski’s legal fees, asserting that Bobulinski had personally paid over $500,000 in legal fees to various lawyers and law firms. Binnall, who has represented Trump and the Trump campaign in legal matters, threatened legal action if Goldman did not comply with the demands to remove the tweet and retract his statement. Bobulinski has also been represented by attorney Stefan Passantino, who has ties to Trump having worked in the Office of White House Counsel during his administration and for the Trump Organization.

Goldman’s office did not respond to requests for comment, and the tweet accusing Bobulinski of lying was still up and had garnered over 260,000 views as of Tuesday evening. The tweet was posted the day after Bobulinski testified before the House Oversight Committee as part of the Republican-led impeachment inquiry into President Biden’s alleged involvement in his family’s business dealings. During the hearing, Bobulinski claimed that the Biden family business was essentially Joe Biden himself. He has been the most vocal former Biden family associate since 2020, criticizing the president for dismissing documents on Hunter’s laptop as Russian disinformation and detailing his interactions with the Biden family on national TV.

Bobulinski, a former Navy officer, worked with Hunter Biden and James Biden on a venture involving CEFC China Energy. He has accused Joe Biden of lying and has been outspoken about his interactions with the Biden family, including alleged conversations with Joe Biden in May 2017. Despite facing backlash and accusations of making false claims, Bobulinski continues to publicly share his experiences and provide insights into the Biden family’s business dealings. The threat of a lawsuit against Goldman highlights the contentious nature of the situation and the ongoing legal and political battles surrounding the Biden family’s business affairs.
