The winning numbers for Saturday’s Powerball jackpot of an estimated $935 million have been drawn, making it the fifth-largest prize in the history of the game. The winning numbers are 33, 13, 50, 12, 52 with a Powerball of 23. This jackpot is the first to surpass $900 million this year, with the amount jumping from $865 million after no tickets matched all six numbers in the previous drawing on Wednesday. The jackpot winner can choose to receive the money in annuitized payments or take a lump sum estimated at $452.3 million.

In the last drawing where the jackpot was not won, three tickets matched the first five numbers and won $1 million each. These tickets were sold in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Texas. The grand prize was last won in January of this year when a ticket in Michigan scored an $842.4 million jackpot. Since then, 37 consecutive drawings have taken place without a jackpot winner. The largest Powerball jackpot ever won was $2.04 billion by a ticket purchased in California in November 2022.

The estimated $935 million jackpot would rank as the fifth highest on Powerball’s all-time prize list. The second through fourth highest jackpots were $1.765 billion (one ticket in California in 2023), $1.586 billion (three tickets in 2016), and $1.08 billion (one ticket in California in 2023). Winning the Powerball jackpot means that a ticket matched all five white balls and the red Powerball, with odds of winning the jackpot at 1 in 292.2 million and the odds of winning any prize at 1 in 24.9.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. ET in Tallahassee, Florida. The high jackpot amounts and the excitement surrounding the Powerball drawings continue to draw in players with the hope of hitting it big. As the jackpot grows, the allure of winning becomes even greater, leading to increased ticket sales and anticipation before the drawing.
