The National Court has ordered the return of six vehicles to businessman Víctor de Aldama, president of Zamora CF and one of the main suspects in the Koldo case, which were seized during a police operation. The vehicles include two Ferraris, a Porsche, and an Audi. The court ruled in favor of the accused, who had claimed the cars believing there was no explicit judicial authorization for their seizure. Aldama is a key figure in the investigation of the Koldo case, a network allegedly involved in obtaining contracts for the supply of masks and sanitary material from the public administration in exchange for illegal commissions during the pandemic.

According to the case file, Aldama, who had a relationship with Koldo García, was said to have had influence in the Ministry of Transport under José Luis Ábalos and became aware of the need for sanitary material during the health crisis. He allegedly contacted businessman Juan Carlos, who had the necessary resources for supplying masks and other products, as well as the financing required. The investigating judge estimates that Cueto made a profit of 9.6 million euros, and De Aldama of 5.5 million euros. During the police operation, authorities seized six vehicles from Aldama, including two Ferraris, a Range Rover, a Porsche, a Volkswagen Golf, and an Audi, all registered to him or companies associated with him.

The businessman later requested the return of the vehicles, which was initially denied by the investigating judge, who believed they were connected to the ongoing investigations and were acquired after the suspicious contracts. However, the Court of Criminal Appeals has now overturned that decision, allowing the return of the vehicles to Aldama. Despite this small victory, his bank accounts and financial assets remain blocked and seized by court order. The court also believes there are indications that Aldama may have committed crimes such as belonging to a criminal organization, money laundering, bribery, and influence peddling.

The Audiencia Nacional also found evidence that Aldama had used the blocked accounts to carry out illegal activities. This ruling comes amidst ongoing investigations into the Koldo case, which has implicated several individuals with ties to high-ranking officials. Aldama, as president of Zamora CF, has faced scrutiny for his alleged involvement in the network seeking to profit from the pandemic by securing lucrative contracts for medical supplies. The case has raised concerns about corruption and abuse of power within the public administration, prompting calls for greater transparency and accountability.

In conclusion, the decision by the National Court to return the seized vehicles to Víctor de Aldama marks a legal victory for the businessman amidst ongoing investigations into the Koldo case. The court’s ruling also highlights the complexity of the case, with allegations of corruption, money laundering, and influence peddling involving high-profile individuals. The outcome of the case has significant implications for the fight against corruption and the need for greater accountability in public administration processes. As the investigations continue, more details are expected to emerge regarding the extent of the alleged criminal activities and the individuals involved.
