The Bolu Governor Erkan Kılıç chaired the Provincial Coordination Meeting at the Provincial Special Administration where Fidan informed about the investments and work carried out in the province by the General Directorate of Highways.

Fidan reminded that due to landslides in the Bolu Mountain Tunnel section of the Anatolian Highway, the tunnel tube was extended by 90 meters in the direction of Ankara. He also mentioned that an extension work will be carried out in the direction of Istanbul, which is planned to take place after the Eid al-Adha.

Fidan stated that the work date was calculated taking into account both traffic density and seasonal conditions, and also mentioned that joint renewal and maintenance work will be carried out on viaducts and bridges in the same time period.

A landslide occurred in the Bolu Mountain Tunnel location in 2022 due to heavy rainfall, and as a result of the works, the tunnel was extended by 90 meters in the direction of Ankara.

The extension work in the direction of Istanbul is planned to be carried out after the Eid al-Adha, as Fidan informed at the meeting. The timeframe for the work is being carefully calculated to ensure minimal disruption to traffic and considering the weather conditions as well.

Overall, the developments in the highway projects and the ongoing maintenance work in the Bolu province were discussed at the meeting, with a focus on the specific details of the tunnel extension and future plans for infrastructure improvement in the region.
