Turkey is set to take a new step to strengthen its diplomatic activities with the establishment of a foundation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This foundation will facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experience in the fields of education and culture.

The Diplomatic Foundation will continue to benefit from the experience and knowledge of retired diplomats. Retired foreign service officers will be involved in this foundation, particularly in public diplomacy activities.

The foundation will also function as an academy. Those who will serve in Turkey’s diplomatic activities will receive training from highly experienced diplomats through this foundation.

This will strengthen the civilian side of diplomacy. The Minister of Foreign Affairs will serve as the President of the Foundation.

The necessary legislative work for the establishment of the Diplomatic Foundation has been completed. The relevant bill is expected to be presented to the parliament by the AK Party group next week.
