Riot Games has announced that some skins in Valorant have been temporarily removed due to an exploit that allowed players to see enemies through walls when using them. This exploit was discovered earlier in the week when some players noticed that the new Mystbloom skins allowed them to see outlines of enemy players through walls when inspecting the weapon.

As more skins were found to have the same issue which allowed players to gain an unfair advantage, Riot Games promptly removed the affected skins from the game while they work on fixing the problem. The Mystbloom skin line has been temporarily disabled, but a hot fix is expected to arrive soon to ensure it won’t be missing for too long. Additionally, certain levels for skins from the Magepunk 3, Imperium, and Primordium line have also been removed from Valorant until they can be fixed.

Members of the cosmetics team have acknowledged the issue and are currently working on a patch to address it. Sean Marino, associate art director on Valorant, thanked the community for reporting the issue and assured that they are investigating and exploring other skins where the problem might be present. Preeti Khanolkar, lead producer for cosmetic content and systems on Valorant, emphasized that the intention is to create cool skins and not to make it pay-to-win. She expressed appreciation for the community’s help in identifying the issue and assured that a fix is in progress.

Riot Games is known for promptly addressing major issues like this, and removing the skins until they can be fixed is the right move to maintain fairness in the game. The exploit could give players a massive competitive advantage, so it’s essential to rectify the situation quickly. However, it comes as a disappointment following a popular patch earlier in the week that addressed some annoying agent nerfs.

Despite the setback caused by the exploit, Valorant players can rest assured that Riot Games is actively working on resolving the issue to ensure a fair and enjoyable gaming experience for all. The swift action taken to remove the problematic skins and work on a fix demonstrates the commitment to maintaining the integrity of the game. Stay tuned for updates on when the affected skins will be reinstated once the issue has been resolved.
