Three children playing on Yeniler Street in Yunuseli neighborhood were attacked by 3 stray dogs. One of the children ran away from the attack, one fell and got injured during the attack. The other child who was with him managed to pull the fallen child away from the dogs. A citizen who heard the children’s screams also tried to chase the dogs away.

Following the report, police and 112 Emergency Service teams were dispatched to the scene. The two injured children were taken to the hospital by health teams, while the police managed to capture the stray dogs and tied them to an empty construction site. The teams informed the municipality officials who then took the dogs and handed them over to the Veterinary Affairs Directorate of the municipality.

The incident once again raises concerns about the increasing number of stray dogs in the city and the potential threat they pose to residents, especially children. The municipality is being urged to take more effective measures to control the stray dog population and prevent such attacks from happening in the future.
