Former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Siggy Flicker’s stepson, Tyler Campanella, was arrested in connection to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Campanella faces five misdemeanor charges and was arrested in New York City. The FBI found evidence, including phone records and footage, that placed Campanella inside the Capitol building during the riots, including in Nancy Pelosi’s suite.

Video reviewed by NBC showed Campanella walking into the room where Pelosi’s laptop was stolen, wearing a flag featuring the symbol of QAnon, a far-right American political movement. Flicker became Campanella’s stepmom after marrying his father in 2012, and he also has an adult daughter from a previous relationship. Additionally, Siggy shares two other children with her ex-husband.

While Siggy was not part of the mob that attacked the Capitol, she posted photos from the day online and suggested that Tyler was there. She expressed her love for patriots, wrote messages of support, and used hashtags like “Stop the Steal.” Siggy has been an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, often posting photos with him online. She has not yet addressed her stepson’s arrest on social media, and representatives for Flicker did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Tyler Campanella is now one of nearly 1,400 people who have been arrested in connection to the Capitol attack that occurred during Congress’s certification of Joe Biden’s Presidential election win. The riot resulted in the deaths of five people, including a police officer, and injuries to hundreds. Siggy’s connections to high-profile figures, such as former President Trump’s legal counsel, also raise further questions about the situation. The FBI’s evidence against Campanella appears to be substantial based on phone records and video footage placing him inside the Capitol during the riots.

The charges against Campanella highlight the severity of the actions taken by individuals involved in the attack on the U.S. Capitol. The presence of QAnon symbols further implicates certain political ideologies in the events of that day. Siggy’s support for patriots and use of particular hashtags on social media suggest a level of involvement or at least endorsement of the actions taken by her stepson. The ongoing legal proceedings against those involved in the Capitol attack serve as a reminder of the ramifications of such acts of violence on the nation and its democratic processes.
