The Starknet Foundation recently announced a new $5 million seed grant program to support emerging projects on the network, aiming to boost blockchain innovation. The Seed Grants Programme will provide at least 200 teams with $25,000 in USD Coin to help them launch their projects on Starknet. The grant targets projects related to Starknet that have already developed a minimum viable product (MVP) or proof-of-concept. The application and evaluation process for the grant will be simplified to maximize engagement, and decisions will be made approximately two weeks after submission. Priority will be given to those who have previously participated in Starknet, but the opportunity is open to all developers.

Starknet has been experiencing increased adoption as developers migrate to its ecosystem to take advantage of its low fees, scalability, and developer-focused toolset. This growth in the developer community aligns with the purpose of the seed grant, as it provides projects with the financial backing they need to thrive. Starknet is recognized for its novel approach to scaling Ethereum and making it economically feasible to build complex decentralized applications (dApps). According to Electric Capital’s 2023 Developer Report, the number of monthly developers using Starknet increased to 730 in December 2023, a significant rise from the 200 developers using the platform in 2021.

In addition to the seed grant program, Starknet has partnered with Nevermind to offer an additional $1 million initiative to support applications and products on the network. This opportunity is open to teams at all stages of development, whether they are looking to integrate an existing product into the Starknet ecosystem, have a proof of concept, or even just have a rough idea. Grants ranging from $50,000 to $250,000 will be provided to builders to advance the Starknet ecosystem with innovative, user-facing products. Starknet will offer experienced engineers and advisors to provide design advice, technical guidance, and support to the selected teams.

The collaboration between Starknet and Nevermind aims to further advance blockchain development by supporting less established teams of developers. The initiative will leverage Starknet’s ecosystem and community to facilitate partnerships, collaborations, and future funding opportunities for the participating teams. By providing grants and support to a diverse range of projects, Starknet and Nevermind are contributing to the growth and innovation of the blockchain space. With a focus on scalability, low fees, and developer-friendly tools, Starknet is becoming a preferred platform for developers looking to build decentralized applications efficiently and economically. The seed grant program and partnership with Nevermind demonstrate Starknet’s commitment to fostering blockchain innovation and supporting the next generation of blockchain projects.
