R&B star Sisqó almost pursued legal action against an imposter pretending to be him for a Bat Mitzvah gig. The imposter was caught before being able to cash in on the opportunity, as their true identity was revealed through their passport. Despite the potential financial gain, Sisqó decided not to sue as he discovered that the imposter was from his hometown of Baltimore, showing some leniency due to this connection.

This is not the first time Sisqó has been impersonated, as in 2017 one of his look-alikes attended New York City Fashion Week dressed like him. The imposter denied trying to pass himself off as Sisqó, claiming that people mistook him for the singer. However, this incident highlights the consequences of stolen identity and the fame that comes with being a public figure.

Sisqó decided to participate in “The Masked Singer” to surprise his wife and children, who are fans of the show. He chose to conceal his identity by becoming the Lizard for Season 11 of the show. Despite making it to the Group C Finals, Sisqó struggled with forgetting lyrics during his performances, showcasing his difficulties in adjusting to the format of the show.

During his time on “The Masked Singer,” Sisqó performed various songs including Billie Joel’s “Uptown Girl,” the theme song from “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!,” and Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life.” However, he ultimately was eliminated from the competition, but highlighted the learning experience and the fun he had throughout his time on the show.

After exiting the competition, Sisqó returned to touring with his R&B group, Dru Hill. Despite his successful music career, he is still best remembered for his iconic song “Thong Song.” When asked about the song’s longevity, Sisqó attributed it to following the advice of artists like Babyface, who advised him to outlast his first bad deal to achieve longevity in the music business. This demonstrates Sisqó’s understanding of the industry and his ability to navigate the challenges that come with fame and success.
