Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced on his social media account that they will not tolerate those who commit crimes, disrupt the peace of the people, or engage in organized crime. He stated that they are determined to dismantle and deliver to justice any organized crime groups, regardless of their size. Following coordinated efforts by the Alanya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Gendarmerie General Command Intelligence Department, operations were carried out at 11 addresses in Antalya and Çanakkale. Yerlikaya revealed that the organized crime group known as “Ayazlar,” led by Umut Ayaz, has been dismantled and that 9 suspects, including the ringleader, have been apprehended.

The suspects involved in activities such as usury, armed robbery, threats, intentional assault, deprivation of personal liberty, property damage, and violation of Law No. 6136 were identified during the operations. It was determined that the suspects forcefully demanded money from businesses and resorted to armed attacks on businesses that refused to comply, forcibly transferred money from citizens’ accounts to their own accounts without consent, coerced individuals into signing promissory notes, intimidated victims to withdraw their complaints through pressure and violence, and engaged in drug trafficking to make unjust profits.

Yerlikaya also mentioned that during the operations, unlicensed pistols and shotguns, various amounts of drugs, numerous promissory notes, and cash were seized. He congratulated the gendarmerie teams who conducted the operations.
