Thirty suspects who were detained in an operation targeting drug dealers two days ago by the Narcotics Department of the Provincial Security Directorate in Nevşehir have completed their processing at the police station according to the directive of the Nevşehir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. After a health check, 29 of the suspects were arrested by the court they were taken to, while one was released under judicial supervision. Efforts are ongoing to capture two fugitive suspects.

The operation, which involved 240 personnel and targeted 58 addresses simultaneously in the city center and the Avanos, Acıgöl, Ürgüp, and Kozaklı districts, was supported by a police helicopter, drones, and narcotic detector dogs. During the searches at the addresses, 1 kilogram and 660 grams of synthetic drugs, 328 drug pills, 602 grams of marijuana, an unlicensed gun, 58 bullets, and numerous digital materials were seized. Out of the 57 suspects detained, 27 were released after giving their statements at the police station.

The operation conducted on April 17 was part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region. Following the completion of the suspects’ processing at the police station, they were taken to court. Twenty-nine of the suspects were remanded in custody, while one was released under judicial control. Efforts continue to apprehend the two remaining suspects who are currently on the run.
