Taylor Swift has dominated the Hot 100 chart this week with every track from her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, debuting on the ranking. She occupies an impressive 31 spots on the chart, causing almost every other song to fall in rank or disappear completely due to her surge. Only two songs, not connected to Swift, managed to rise on the Hot 100, with Nicki Minaj’s single “FTCU” jumping from No. 80 to No. 53.

Minaj’s “FTCU” saw a significant increase thanks to a remix featuring vocals from Chris Brown and Sexxy Redd. The re-released tune became a bestseller, leading to a rise in chart position along with increased streams and radio support. Another song that defied Swift’s dominance on the Hot 100 was “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey, a newcomer who gained popularity as a featured artist on Beyoncé’s country album Cowboy Carter.

In its second week on the Hot 100, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” climbed from No. 36 to No. 27, also reaching the top spot on the Hot Country Songs chart. Shaboozey’s success on both charts is notable, especially after being introduced to a wide audience through Beyoncé’s album. As Swift’s hits begin to decline in the coming weeks, both Minaj and Shaboozey have the potential to continue their upward momentum on the Hot 100 chart.

With Swift’s chart dominance likely to wane in the future as interest in The Tortured Poets Department fades, both Minaj and Shaboozey could see their tracks climb even higher on the Hot 100. As the competition on the chart decreases, these artists have the opportunity to make a significant impact and potentially reach the top of the tally in the upcoming weeks. It will be interesting to see how their songs perform as Swift’s tracks start to fall, creating space for other artists to rise on the Hot 100.
