Niall Horan, former One Direction star, recently visited Australia Zoo while on tour in Australia. He shared a video of himself cuddling up to some of the park’s animals, including a wombat and a cockatoo. He also had the opportunity to chat with Bindi Irwin and her husband Chandler Powell during his visit. Horan also performed a ‘shoey’ at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, a popular Australian tradition of pouring alcohol into a shoe and sculling it, made famous by sportsmen like Daniel Ricciardo and Tai Tuivasa. His One Direction bandmate Harry Styles also performed a shoey during a concert in Perth last year.

The visit to Australia Zoo was described as a ‘day off’ for Horan, who has been touring in Australia. He was greeted warmly by both the staff and the animals at the zoo. The Irwin family, who run the zoo, including Bindi and Robert Irwin, expressed their gratitude for Horan’s visit. Horan is set to perform at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on May 1 and at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on May 3. Due to popular demand, he will also perform a second night in Melbourne on May 4 after selling out his first show in the city.

The singer’s visit to Australia Zoo and interaction with the Irwin family was well-received by fans, with many commenting on social media about how much they enjoyed seeing him there. The encounter with the unique Australian animals seemed to be a highlight of his visit. Horan’s tour in Australia has been a success so far, with fans eagerly anticipating his upcoming performances in Sydney and Melbourne. The ‘shoey’ performance at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre added to the excitement surrounding his tour and showcased his willingness to engage with local traditions and customs while on the road.
