Dan Perino, a 60-year-old man from New York, gained attention in 2014 when he posted flyers around the city looking for a film or TV role. Describing himself as a “professional, experienced actor” seeking any acting opportunities, he had success with this method and decided to use it again to find a girlfriend. This time, Perino hung up around 40,000 posters in search of a romantic partner, with the message “I’m looking for a girlfriend” and his photo and phone number.

The response to Perino’s flyers was overwhelming, with many calls and dates coming in, although he acknowledged that some were pranks. Eventually, he became recognized on the street due to his campaign and decided to stop. Despite not finding a love match, Perino turned his experience into a documentary and a book titled “Looking for a Girlfriend.” After trying online dating and getting tired of it, he decided to go back to his original method of finding a partner to see if he could recreate the success he had in the past.

This time around, Perino is not just “looking for a girlfriend,” but for the “perfect woman.” Although he struggled to define what exactly he is looking for in a partner, he mentioned that they should be young, attractive, and “not a stalker.” His new campaign resulted in about 2,000 phone calls and thousands of texts within the first two days, causing him to wear disguises when leaving the house to avoid being stopped frequently. Despite being overwhelmed by the responses, Perino expressed his excitement at going through the options and potentially finding a date.

While the singleton has not yet chosen a date due to the large number of responses, he plans to sit down and filter through his options soon. Perino admitted that he enjoys the process and finds it fun. His approach to finding a girlfriend through posters has garnered attention and curiosity from the public, as well as illustrating an unconventional and creative way of seeking companionship. As he navigates through the responses and potential dates, Perino’s story continues to capture interest and spark conversations about modern dating methods and the quest for love.
