Sergeant Göçmen’s funeral prayer was performed at the Ahmet Hamdi Akseki Mosque, followed by his body being transported in a gun carriage accompanied by a military band. After the funeral prayer performed at the mosque, Göçmen’s body was taken to the Cebeci Martyrdom for burial. The funeral procession was attended by high-ranking officials including the Minister of National Defence, the Minister of Justice, and the Minister of Transportation. It was revealed that the soldier would have celebrated his 26th birthday on May 8, and his father had passed away just a month before this tragic event.

Sergeant Göçmen had been injured in the Pençe operation area the day before, due to a lightning strike, and had been taken to the hospital for treatment. Despite the medical efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries and was declared a martyr. The news of the young soldier’s death has shaken the community and sparked an outpouring of grief and solidarity. The nation mourns the loss of yet another brave soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country.
