Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert clapped back at President Joe Biden for mocking her at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Biden made jokes about Boebert’s theater scandal in which she was escorted out of a performance of Beetlejuice for vaping and behaving inappropriately with her date. Boebert responded to Biden’s joke on social media, hinting at the upcoming November elections.

Following the Beetlejuice scandal in September, Boebert initially attributed being asked to leave the theater to her loud laughter and singing. However, she later apologized for her behavior, citing a challenging personal time due to her divorce. Boebert was also recently mocked for her behavior at a Republican gala in New York City where staff refused to serve her more alcohol and she was asked to stop taking pictures with former President Donald Trump.

Despite these incidents, Trump has endorsed Boebert in her House race, praising her as a “Proven Conservative and Effective Leader.” Boebert has represented Colorado’s 3rd Congressional district since 2021 and has announced her decision to run in the more Republican-friendly 4th Congressional District for the 2024 election. She has criticized celebrities for supporting her former Democratic opponent, accusing Hollywood of trying to buy their way into Congress.

Biden, on the other hand, is expected to face off against Trump in the upcoming presidential elections. Despite polls showing the candidates in a close race, Biden made jokes at the Correspondents’ Dinner about Boebert’s theater scandal, which she took as an opportunity to jab back at him. Both politicians are gearing up for a heated political showdown in the near future.
