Bakan Kacır visited Istanbul’s IBF Fatih Sultan Mehmet Primary School with his wife and children in the afternoon. After casting his vote, Kacır stated that elections are like a festival day for democracy and the ultimate manifestation of national will. He expressed confidence that the people would protect their will with high participation rates. “Today, elections for mayors and municipal council members were held in all 81 provinces, 922 districts, and 398 towns. At the same time, there are elections for village headmen in our neighborhoods and villages. Our people will use their democratic right most effectively. We will have chosen the mayors who will manage our cities, the municipal council members, and the headmen who will manage our neighborhoods for the next 5 years. I hope that once again, Turkish democracy will demonstrate its strength to the whole world with very high participation. Each election contributes to the strengthening and maturation of Turkish democracy. Everything was said during the campaign. Now, the final word belongs to the people.”
