Istanbul Police Department’s Harbor Branch teams discovered that illegally caught mussels were being loaded into a vehicle near the Kuzguncuk coast in Uskudar. The teams took action and seized approximately 1.5 tons of mussels in 75 sacks.
The suspects A.B. and V.A., who were caught at the scene, were fined 52,484 lira for violating the “Fisheries Law”. The confiscated mussels were released into the sea to ensure their survival and contribution to the natural habitat.
