Hannah Brown, known for her appearances on the pageant stage, national television, and as a New York Times bestselling author, is adding novelist to her list of accomplishments with the release of her first novel, “Mistakes We Never Made.” Brown, a graduate of the University of Alabama, shifted gears to pursue a writing career after her time on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” The book, which goes on sale in May, follows the story of two characters on a wild-goose chase to find a missing bride, shifting from being frenemies to lovers.

During a Zoom interview with Fox News Digital, Brown discussed her writing process and inspiration for the romantic novel, which she described as a mix of “The Hangover,” “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” and “When Harry Met Sally.” Reflecting on her two-year writing process, Brown stated that it was a brand-new experience for her and that she learned to trust her gut instincts when creating a totally fictitious world. She noted that while the book is a work of fiction, it is grounded in truths she has experienced in her own life.

Brown credits her confidence in writing to the support of professionals who helped her along the way. She also drew inspiration from things she loves about different media, infusing those elements into her storytelling. The author shared that she sees herself in different parts of the main character, Emma, and believes that she cannot write a character that is not based on some type of truth. Additionally, she mentioned that the character Finn is a reflection of people in her life as well as parts of herself.

As Brown continues to write, she has already started working on her second novel, hinting that it may focus on a side character from “Mistakes We Never Made.” She is also the host of the “Better Tomorrow” podcast, where she interviews guests about personal growth and improvement. Ultimately, Brown hopes that readers will find her book a fun escape while also appreciating its depth and relatability. For more Lifestyle articles, readers can visit www.foxnews.com/lifestyle.
