Former Republican congressman George Santos, who was expelled from the House of Representatives, recently resurrected his drag queen persona, Kitara Ravache, in a video posted on the cameo app. Santos had previously denied the existence of his drag persona, but now claims to be making six figures through his appearances on Cameo. He announced that he would be donating 20% of the proceeds to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

Santos, who is facing a 23-count federal indictment for defrauding campaign donors and laundering their cash for personal use, pleaded not guilty to all counts. In the video, Kitara wore a red feather boa and encouraged the recipients to have fun and be more risqué. He also suggested that they try drag themselves and have a good time. Kitara’s existence was first revealed in January 2023 by journalist Marisa Kabas on her Substack site, the Handbasket.

Eula Rochard, a Brazilian drag queen and former friend of Santos, revealed that she had known Santos since he was a teenager and that he used to hang out at her house. She commented that Santos, who was known as Anthony Devolder at the time, did not have what it takes to be a professional drag queen. When news of Kitara’s existence first broke, Santos vehemently denied ever doing drag and dismissed the claims as false. This denial added to Santos’ already questionable reputation, which eventually led to his expulsion from Congress.

Following his expulsion from Congress, Santos turned to Cameo to make quick cash and became a minor sensation on the app. He was reportedly earning $500 per video message and even trolled another indicted lawmaker, Senator Bob Menendez, at the request of Senator John Fetterman. However, the foundations that Santos claimed he would donate a portion of his earnings to, such as the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, stated that they were not aware of his donation plans until they saw his post.

The Republican congressman’s scandalous past and propensity for lying have come to light as a result of his recent actions. Despite his denials and attempts to distract from the truth, Santos has faced consequences for his actions, including being expelled from Congress. His decision to revive his drag persona and make public appearances on Cameo may be seen as an attempt to regain some popularity or notoriety. However, his reputation remains tarnished by his past behavior and the ongoing legal issues he faces.
