Elizabeth Hunterton, a former beauty queen who was abandoned as a newborn at a Nevada airport in 1980, has been on a journey to find her biological parents. She discovered her biological father had passed away 20 years ago but has reconnected with other family members and is preparing to meet her biological mother for the first time in two weeks. Despite being crowned Miss Nevada in 2004 and leading a fulfilling life, Hunterton has felt a void in not knowing about her past and has been documenting her emotional journey on social media platforms such as TikTok.

Initially connecting with family members through DNA testing websites, Hunterdon found out about her biological father through her uncle, who revealed that he had been a kind and remarkable man. Hunterdon’s uncle spoke of him in the past tense, as he had passed away without knowing about her existence. Hunterdon considers her late father as one of her guardian angels and feels a strong connection with him, as they share physical similarities. Despite finding out about her father relatively quickly, it was more challenging to track down her biological mother.

After almost giving up hope and believing her mother was deceased, Hunterdon was eventually able to find her mother’s contact information through a cousin. She decided to write her a two-and-a-half-page handwritten letter, hoping for a positive response. Luckily, her mother replied, providing Hunterdon with information about her mysterious past. Hunterdon discovered that her mother, who is of mixed heritage, was not able to care for her and had given her to a roommate who was supposed to take her to an adoption agency. Instead, she was left at the airport which took an emotional toll on her mother.

Hunterdon’s mother also revealed that she was a product of rape, although her biological father’s family denies this claim. Despite the uncertainty surrounding her conception, Hunterdon finds solace in not knowing the truth and remains grateful for the opportunity to connect with her biological mother. Through this process, Hunterdon learned that her mother had chosen the name “Elizabeth” for her, which her adoptive parents had also named her over “Jane Doe.” This newfound connection has brought closure to Hunterdon’s search for her identity and has allowed her to understand the circumstances that led to her abandonment.

As she prepares to meet her biological mother, Hunterdon is filled with various conflicting emotions. Fear is the predominant feeling she experiences as the meeting draws closer, although the reasons for this fear are not entirely clear to her. Despite these uncertainties, Hunterdon remains hopeful and eager to finally meet her biological mother and learn more about her roots. Her journey of discovery and reconnection has been long and arduous, but it has also been a source of healing and closure for Hunterdon as she finally gets answers to the questions that have plagued her for so long. Through her openness and vulnerability in sharing her story, Hunterdon hopes to inspire others and raise awareness about the importance of knowing one’s origins.
