Dr. Connor Bowman, a former Mayo Clinic doctor, was charged with the murder of his wife, pharmacist Betty Bowman, after she fell seriously ill and died from organ failure in August. New information from a search warrant shows that Bowman may have referred to himself as a widower on the dating app Bumble even before his wife’s death. Investigators are seeking details on his conversations with women on the app and when he changed his marital status on his profile. Bowman had allegedly searched for the term “widow” just two days before his wife’s death, and at least one woman he matched with claimed his profile identified him as a widower.

The search warrant also revealed that Bowman gave different stories about his wife’s death to the women he matched with on the dating app. One woman said that Bowman claimed his wife died from listeria poisoning earlier in the summer, while another was led to believe that Betty had died a year prior from an overdose of morphine. Bowman also mentioned a large life insurance payout he received after his wife’s death and how he used it to pay off his student loan debt. He was arrested in October and charged with first and second-degree murder in connection with Betty’s death.

Betty Bowman, who worked at the Mayo Clinic, had been suffering from symptoms similar to food poisoning before her condition rapidly deteriorated. Toxicology reports later revealed the presence of the drug colchicine in her system. Bowman allegedly tried to dissuade the medical examiner’s office from performing an autopsy and insisted on having his wife cremated immediately, claiming her death was natural. Friends of Betty claimed that the couple’s marriage was falling apart due to infidelity and other issues related to their open relationship, which led Betty to threaten divorce.

Investigators are seeking further information from Bumble regarding Bowman’s conversations with women on the app and when he changed his marital status on his profile. Bowman’s behavior after his wife’s death, including his various stories about how she died and his comments on moving on with a new person, raise suspicions about his involvement in her murder. As the case progresses, more details may emerge about the circumstances surrounding Betty Bowman’s death and the role her husband may have played in it.

Bowman is currently being held in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center on $2 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court on June 11. The investigation into Betty’s death continues, with authorities looking into Bowman’s actions and statements in the days and weeks following her passing. The case has garnered significant attention due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding Betty’s death and the allegations against her husband, who was once a respected doctor at the Mayo Clinic. Further developments in the case may shed light on the truth behind Betty Bowman’s tragic end.
