A fire broke out for unknown reasons in a wooden factory in Şehit Abdullah Çavuş Neighborhood. Upon receiving the report, a large number of fire brigade teams and ambulances were dispatched to the area. The fire, which quickly grew and lasted for about 5 hours, was intervened by 28 fire trucks, 65 personnel from the Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, the Regional Directorate of Forestry, Dulkadiroğlu Municipality, and water tankers from the Kaski General Directorate.

Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fırat Görgel inspected the extinguishing works on the scene, received information from the authorities, and met with the owners of the factory. Görgel informed the journalists that the factory where the fire broke out was a large furniture factory and stated that the fire was partially under control. He mentioned that there was still a small fire on one side and controlling the fire in a factory with chemical substances was not easy, but the teams were working with great dedication. He emphasized that it was a challenging night for them.

Görgel expressed sadness about the accident where an employee lost his life in a quarry belonging to the Metropolitan Municipality, in addition to the fire incident. He also highlighted the relief that there were no casualties in the fire. After approximately 5 hours of work, the fire was brought under control by the fire brigade teams. The teams are currently continuing their cooling efforts.
