The husband of conjoined twin sisters Abby and Brittany Hensel, Joshua Bowling, was cleared of allegations that he fathered a child with his ex-wife. The paternity case accused him of fathering a three-year-old with his ex-wife, Annica Bowling. After a genetic test revealed that another man, Gavin Vatnsdal, was the father, the judge ruled that Vatnsdal should be listed as the legal father and Bowling should be removed from the birth certificate.

Annica and Joshua Bowling have one daughter, Isabella, together and share joint custody. They split in 2019, and Annica later had another daughter whose paternity was contested. The bombshell lawsuit was filed in 2023, nearly two years after Joshua and Abby Hensel, one of the twins, secretly married. Abby and Brittany, the conjoined twins, confirmed their support for Joshua Bowling on TikTok and addressed any negative comments with a message of love.

Abby and Brittany Hensel, the conjoined twins who share a body with two heads, are originally from Minnesota and first gained fame after appearing on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 1996. Born with a rare medical condition that involves two heads on one body, the twins have two different sets of arms, two hearts, and two legs. Their parents decided against separation surgery as doctors believed they would not survive. The twins currently work as fifth-grade teachers in their home state.

Court documents revealed that Abby did not list her sister Brittany as a witness for her marriage to Joshua Bowling. Instead, her older sister, Morgan Hensel, and a person named Cosmo Naut were listed as witnesses. The Hensel sisters have shared their lives on an eight-part TLC reality series called “Abby & Brittany” in 2012. Abby controls the right side of their body, while Brittany controls the left side, sharing a blood stream and organs below the waist.

In a courtroom hearing reminiscent of a “Maury” episode, the genetic test results determined that Gavin Vatnsdal, not Joshua Bowling, was the father of Annica Bowling’s daughter. All parties involved were in agreement that Vatnsdal should be declared the father and Bowling should be removed from the birth certificate. The judge granted the motion and concluded the paternity case. The Hensel twins, Annica, Joshua, and Vatnsdal did not respond to media requests for comments on the matter.
