The 2024 MICHELIN Guide for Miami, Orlando, and Tampa was recently announced, awarding stars to nine more restaurants in the region. With this update, Florida is now home to a total of 26 Michelin-starred restaurants, with L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Miami remaining at the top of the list with two stars. Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, expressed excitement about the growth of Florida’s culinary scene and its status as a top gastronomic destination. In addition to the new Michelin-starred restaurants, Green Star restaurants have also been included in the selection for the first time, highlighting their commitment to sustainable gastronomy.

Among the new additions to the Michelin-starred list are two restaurants in Tampa, Ebbe and Kosen, as well as three eateries in Miami – EntreNos, Ogawa, and Shingo. In Orlando, Camille, Natsu, Papa Llama, and Victoria and Albert’s have also been awarded stars. Victoria and Albert’s, located at Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort, is known for its luxurious Victorian-era inspired dining experience. With a pre-fixe meal priced at $295 per guest, along with optional wine and zero-proof pairings, the restaurant offers a formal dining experience for guests aged 10 and above.

Chef de Cuisine Matthew Sowers expressed his gratitude for the recognition by Michelin, stating that the entire team at Victoria & Albert’s contributed to earning the Michelin star. The restaurant’s innovative dining experience, which draws inspiration from various culinary influences, impressed Michelin inspectors. Dishes like New Zealand langoustine tarts, venison carpaccio sandwiches, and cherry-cola bordelaise sauce showcased Chef Sowers’ contemporary approach to cuisine. Other elements such as the water lists, coffee and tea service, and wine program further impressed the Michelin inspectors, resulting in the restaurant’s first Michelin star.

Victoria and Albert’s has garnered numerous prestigious accolades since its opening in 1988, including a AAA Five Diamond Award since 2000, Forbes Travel Guide Five Star designation since 2018, and a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence. The restaurant’s commitment to culinary excellence and providing a top-tier dining experience has made it a favorite among food critics and guests alike. With its recent inclusion in the MICHELIN Guide Florida and the awarding of a Michelin star, Victoria and Albert’s continues to solidify its reputation as a must-visit dining destination in Florida for travelers and food enthusiasts alike.
