A Florida sheriff’s deputy, Francisco Alberto Estrella Chicon, was arrested for allegedly using law enforcement resources to obtain information about a woman’s homicide investigation and sharing it with the victim’s husband. The victim, Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas, was kidnapped at gunpoint and her body was found inside a burning vehicle. Estrella communicated with the victim’s husband via WhatsApp and shared details about the case, including information about the detective working on the investigation. He also shared a secretly recorded video of a conversation with the detective, indicating his intent to obstruct the investigation.

Estrella has been relieved of all his law enforcement duties without pay during the criminal investigation. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated that the allegations against him are serious and that it is unacceptable for any law enforcement officer to misuse their power and authority. The victim’s husband has been cooperating with law enforcement, but it is suspected that he may know more than he has shared. No arrests have been made in the case, and no suspects have been named. The suspects’ vehicle, a distinctive green Acura, was found abandoned, potentially linking Guerrero De Aguasvias’ killing to another death in Orange County.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an open and active murder investigation into Guerrero De Aguasvivas’ case. The investigation is still in its early stages, but it is believed that the killing was not a random act and that the tow truck driver Juan Luis Cintron Garcia, who towed the suspects’ vehicle in March, was targeted and fatally shot in Taft, Florida the day before Guerrero De Aguasvivas was kidnapped. Law enforcement authorities are still working to gather more information and evidence to solve the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The disclosure of information by Estrella to the victim’s husband via WhatsApp and the sharing of a video recording of a conversation with the detective clearly demonstrate his intent to obstruct the investigation. The Orange County Sheriff, John Mina, emphasized the seriousness of the allegations against Estrella and stressed that such misuse of power and authority by a law enforcement officer is completely unacceptable. Estrella’s actions have resulted in him being relieved of his duties and facing a criminal investigation to determine the extent of his involvement in obstructing justice in Guerrero De Aguasvivas’ murder case.

Although no suspects have been named, the investigation into Guerrero De Aguasvivas’ case and the murder of Juan Luis Cintron Garcia continues. Law enforcement authorities are still working to gather evidence and information to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for these crimes. The victim’s husband’s cooperation with authorities is ongoing, and investigators suspect that he may have additional information that he has yet to share. The case remains open and active, with efforts being made to piece together the events leading to the tragic deaths and bring those responsible to justice.
