Chirp Network has joined forces with peaq to offer connectivity solutions for decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs). The partnership will see Chirp integrating its telecommunications technology with peaq, the layer-1 blockchain for DePIN and machine real-world assets (RWAs). Chirp is working on a decentralized connectivity network that can facilitate data exchange across different protocols and distances. Their Blackbird gateway devices are already operational in 33 countries and can provide connectivity across various IoT channels like LoRaWAN, LoRa 2.4 GHz, and BLE. These devices are powered by Chirp’s LTE networks, enabling seamless data exchange across networks and fleets on a global scale.

With the collaboration between Chirp and peaq, the aim is to enhance device communication and offer versatile connectivity for DePINs. By leveraging major IoT protocols, Chirp intends to connect smart devices worldwide to support a borderless communication backbone. According to peaq co-founder Till Wendler, decentralized connectivity and networking are crucial functions for any DePIN, and the integration with Chirp will unlock this feature for all DePINs in the ecosystem. This partnership will allow devices across the globe to communicate via a people-owned network, facilitating seamless data exchange.

XMAQUINA, the creator of the first fully autonomous tokenized robot cafe, will be utilizing Chirp Network for connectivity within the peaq ecosystem. The project’s robotic barista, which was recently showcased at the TOKEN2049 conference in Dubai, operates autonomously by connecting to the peaq blockchain through Chirp’s IoT connectivity layer. This integration aims to bring DePINs building in the peaq ecosystem one step closer to a world where infrastructure is run by its users. Chirp also plans to provide connectivity for projects like ELOOP and Silencio, enabling tokenized investments in DePINs and rewarding users with crypto for collecting noise pollution data.

Overall, the partnership between Chirp and peaq is set to revolutionize decentralized connectivity and networking for DePINs. By integrating Chirp’s telecommunications technology with peaq’s blockchain, the collaboration aims to provide seamless data exchange across different protocols and distances. With the Blackbird gateway devices already in operation globally, Chirp is well-equipped to support smart devices worldwide and contribute to the development of a borderless communication backbone. The integration with peaq will unlock crucial features for DePINs in the ecosystem, allowing devices to communicate via a people-owned network, ultimately leading to a world where infrastructure is managed by its users. Through collaborations with projects like XMAQUINA, ELOOP, and Silencio, Chirp Network is poised to play a significant role in the advancement of decentralized infrastructure networks.
