Arie Luyendyk Jr., a member of Bachelor Nation, expressed regret over his decision to get a vasectomy during an Instagram Q&A session. He mentioned that a year ago, he would have been against having more children, but now feels like he rushed into the procedure. Luyendyk and his wife, Lauren Burnham, already have three children together, and he shared that he is enjoying this stage of their lives. The couple met on season 22 of The Bachelor in 2017, where Luyendyk initially chose Becca Kufrin but later pursued a relationship with Burnham and proposed to her in 2018.

In a vlog from February 2022, Luyendyk and Burnham described the vasectomy experience. Burnham commented on how pale Luyendyk looked during the procedure and how unpleasant it was for him. Despite the discomfort, Luyendyk did not want to deter other men from considering a vasectomy. Burnham explained that she has had issues with hormonal birth control causing mild depression, so they felt it was Luyendyk’s turn to make a sacrifice. While the couple believed at the time that the vasectomy was the right decision for them, Burnham later admitted that she was not ready to completely rule out the possibility of expanding their family.

Although Luyendyk and Burnham are currently busy with three kids under the age of three, they are open to the idea of having another child in the future. Luyendyk mentioned that vasectomies can be reversible if needed, giving them the option to reconsider expanding their family later on. Luyendyk often shares glimpses of their family life on social media, including a recent daddy/daughter trip with one of their children, Senna. He expressed how special the experience was and how quickly children grow up, emphasizing the importance of cherishing each moment with them.

In a video posted by Luyendyk, he reflected on how fast his twins, Lux and Senna, are growing up, expressing nostalgia for their younger days. Burnham echoed this sentiment in the comments, sharing her own feelings of how quickly time passes when raising children. Despite the challenges of having three young children close in age, Luyendyk and Burnham appear to be navigating parenthood together and enjoying the journey. Luyendyk’s recent realization that he may have rushed into getting a vasectomy showcases the evolving nature of their family planning and the possibility of welcoming more children in the future.
