Anne Wilson is celebrating the success of her latest single “Strong” reaching No. 1 on Christian radio, from her new album REBEL which features 16 songs that she co-wrote. The album offers a mix of faith-filled and country songs, showcasing Wilson’s versatility as an artist. From uplifting tracks like “God & Country” to emotional songs like “Praying Woman” featuring Lainey Wilson, the album takes listeners on a diverse musical journey.

Wilson first caught the attention of fans three years ago with her debut single “My Jesus,” which led to a successful career in both Christian and country music. Her first album, also titled “My Jesus,” received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. She has since won numerous Christian music awards, been named one of this year’s Opry NextStage Artists, and chosen as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country.

Growing up in Lexington, Kentucky, Wilson initially had dreams of becoming an astronaut before a tragic event changed the course of her life. At 15, her brother’s car accident death inspired her to pursue singing and songwriting as a way to honor him. Despite starting with no musical background, Wilson’s determination and passion led her to become a successful artist, with her book “My Jesus: From Heartache to Hope” detailing the miracles that guided her journey.

Wilson credits her mentor, singer/songwriter Matthew West, for shaping her songwriting skills and encouraging her to pursue her ideas. West collaborated on many songs for the new album, showcasing Wilson’s growth as a songwriter and artist. From the title track “Rebel” to the emotional duet “Praying Woman” with Lainey Wilson, each song on the album reflects a different aspect of Wilson’s life and musical style.

Collaborating with artists like Chris Tomlin and Jordan Davis, Wilson’s album also touches on themes like faith, love, and family. From celebrating her Kentucky roots in “Out of the Bluegrass” to paying tribute to her father in “My Father’s Daughter,” Wilson’s songs resonate with listeners on a personal level. She hopes her music connects with people and inspires them through her raw, honest lyrics and powerful vocals.

Despite feeling overwhelmed by her success, Wilson remains grateful for the opportunities that have come her way. She continues to work hard and stay true to her faith, believing that her music is a gift from God. With each day bringing new challenges and unexpected opportunities, Wilson looks forward to the future with a sense of humility and gratitude for all that she has accomplished.
