Rapper 50 Cent has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy after she accused him of raping and physically abusing her. According to court documents, 50 Cent claims that Joy made these allegations in response to his attempt to gain sole custody of their 11-year-old son, Sire. The rapper also alleges that Joy’s accusations have damaged his reputation, affected the ongoing child custody case, and subjected him to online hate, as evidenced by the 22,000 likes on her Instagram post.

In an effort to resolve the situation, 50 Cent’s lawyers sent a letter to Joy demanding that she remove the post and retract her statement. However, Joy refused to comply, and her attorneys reportedly asked for millions of dollars and for the rapper to drop the custody battle in exchange for removing the post. 50 Cent has described these demands as “extortive” and is seeking over $1 million in damages, as well as a court order for Joy to take down the post and refrain from making any further defamatory comments about him.

Joy, a model and actress, had previously accused 50 Cent of rape and physical abuse in a scathing message posted on social media. She also criticized his parenting abilities, claiming that he had only seen their son 10 times in the past two years despite living in close proximity. In response to these allegations, 50 Cent’s representative emphasized that the accusations were false and baseless, and suggested that they were made in retaliation for his decision to seek sole custody of his son.

Joy’s name had also been brought up in a lawsuit involving music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who alleged that she was one of three women who worked as sex workers for Sean “Diddy” Combs. Joy vehemently denied these accusations on Instagram, calling them “100% false” and an attempt to assassinate her character. This lawsuit adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing legal battles between 50 Cent and Joy, who dated for a brief period from 2011 to 2012.

Amidst all these accusations and legal challenges, the focus remains on the well-being of their son, Sire. 50 Cent’s representative emphasized that the rapper’s main priority is to ensure that his son is in a safe environment, and that all his actions are guided by this goal. The situation highlights the importance of addressing issues related to sexual assault and domestic violence, and resources such as the Sexual Assault Hotline and the National Domestic Violence Hotline are available for those who need support. Ultimately, the legal battle between 50 Cent and Joy underscores the complexities of personal relationships and the challenges that can arise when these relationships break down.
