A fire that started in a hazelnut orchard in the village of Salıkkaya in the district of Kocaali in Sakarya spread to a forested area due to the wind. The owner of the orchard was unable to control the flames and requested assistance from the Kocaali Forestry Management Directorate.

Upon receiving the notification, three fire trucks and a firefighting team were dispatched to the area. With the intense intervention of the teams, the fire was extinguished. However, the fire caused damage to approximately 5 acres of forested land. Cooling efforts are ongoing in the area.
