Hakkari Governorate announced that the Provincial Security Directorate continues its efforts to prevent smuggling activities. As part of these efforts, a search was conducted in 3 residences in the Beşikağaç hamlet of Anadağ village in the Derecik district of Hakkari.

During the search, approximately 4 kilograms of smuggled gold with a value of around 9 million 500 thousand lira, 21 cartons of cigarettes, 755 Iraqi dinars believed to be obtained from illegal activities, 126,895 Turkish liras, and 358,430 dollars were seized.

As a result of the operation, 5 suspects were detained and legal proceedings have been initiated against them for their involvement in smuggling activities.
