A man and a woman were arrested in connection with an assault on actor Ian Ziering on New Year’s Eve in Hollywood. Jacob Esteban Hernandez, 20, and Angie Teresa Guizar, 40, were taken into custody after search warrants were executed at two Los Angeles-area residences. The assault and car vandalism incident involved at least four members of a minibike gang and took place in the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard near Highland Avenue. Ziering, known for his role in “Beverly Hills, 90210,” was stuck in traffic with his young daughter when the minibikers approached aggressively, leading to a physical altercation.

Videos posted on social media captured part of the confrontation, with one showing someone swinging an object at Ziering. Fortunately, neither Ziering nor his 10-year-old child who was in the car with him sustained serious injuries. After the assault, the minibike riders vandalized Ziering’s vehicle while his child was still in the front seat. Hernandez was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism with bail set at $50,000, while Guizar was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and had bail set at $30,000. The case will be presented to the county prosecutor’s office to determine charges, and it is unclear whether the suspects have legal representation at this time.

Investigators were able to identify the suspects with the help of videos and information from witnesses. The LAPD urged anyone with further information regarding the assault and vandalism to contact Detective Douglass Hall at 213-972-2971. Calls during non-business hours or weekends should be directed to 877-527-3247, and tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org. The arrest of Hernandez and Guizar comes after a disturbing incident on New Year’s Eve that ended with Ziering and his daughter being targeted and their vehicle being vandalized by a group of minibike riders in Hollywood.
