Sean “Diddy” Combs is expressing anger over the video of him assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie, claiming that it does not show the full story of what happened. While acknowledging that the video does not excuse his actions, he believes it was selectively released to push an agenda. Combs sees the video as a distraction from the raids on his homes, which are part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation involving him.

The disturbing video shows Combs chasing Cassie through a hotel hallway, grabbing her by the neck, throwing her to the floor, kicking her, and dragging her through the hallway. He also threw a glass vase at her as she was cornered in the hallway before the attack finally came to an end. This incident occurred in March 2016, and the video was released to the public on May 19.

After the video surfaced, Combs issued an apology on Instagram, taking full responsibility for his actions and expressing disgust over his behavior on the video. Cassie, now married to Alex Fine, also addressed the video, thanking everyone for their love and support as she continues to heal from the traumatic experience.

Cassie filed a lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, accusing him of rape and abuse. Despite denying her allegations, they settled the next day. Combs has faced additional lawsuits alleging various forms of sexual misconduct and illegal activities. Most recently, he was accused of drugging and raping a former student at the Fashion Institute of Technology in the ’90s, allegations he has denied.

In light of the serious nature of the allegations against Combs and the impact of domestic violence and sexual assault on individuals, support systems are available through organizations such as the Sexual Assault Hotline and the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Combs continues to face legal challenges and public scrutiny as more details come to light about his past behavior and the incidents involving Cassie and other alleged victims.
