In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, he affirmed that the Presidential Council represents a transformation to end the conflict and stop the war
The Yemeni Chief of Staff, Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant-General Saghir Hammoud bin Aziz, said that the Houthi coup group has two options, either to leave arms and negotiate with the Yemenis as a political component, or for the army to resolve the battle militarily.
In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, to be published tomorrow, bin Aziz stressed that the formation of the new presidential leadership council represents a practical transformation that carries with it all political and field changes and developments, and is an advanced step on the way to ending the conflict, stopping the war, restoring the Yemeni state, and achieving security and stability in Yemen and the region.
The former Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi issued a presidential decree on April 7, through which he transferred his full powers to a Presidential Council headed by Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi and the membership of seven active Yemeni leaders on the ground.
The Chief of Staff warned that the truce declared by the United Nations from the perspective of the militias is nothing more than an opportunity for them to rearrange their ranks and mobilize all their human, material and arm capabilities; They are preparing for a massive and sudden attack under the pretext that they will make up at the right moment for them.
