Biden begins this official visit at the invitation of King Salman; With the aim of strengthening the historical ties and the distinguished strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States, and in light of the common desire to develop relations in all fields.
President Biden is also seeking to work with Saudi officials to extend the Yemeni humanitarian truce that came into effect on April 2, and was strongly supported by Saudi Arabia.
“The president will be sitting in a bilateral meeting with King Salman and his leadership team, and the crown prince on the leadership team…so certainly, the president will meet with the crown prince,” said John Kirby, the White House National Security Council’s coordinator for strategic communications.
