The Saudi Crown Prince and the Chinese President affirm the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries

Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, and Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of the strategic relations between Riyadh and Beijing.

The phone call that Prince Mohammed bin Salman made with President Xi dealt with aspects of partnership between the Kingdom and China, and joint coordination efforts to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Within the call, the Saudi Crown Prince also expressed his country’s appreciation for the Chinese initiative to support efforts to develop good neighborly relations between the Kingdom and Iran. For his part, the Chinese president praised Saudi Arabia’s role in promoting the development of his country’s relations with the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the countries of the Middle East region.

China Central Television said that President Xi Jinping held telephone conversations with the Saudi Crown Prince, which dealt extensively with a number of issues, including support for the continuation of talks between Riyadh and Tehran; President Xi helped broker an agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia to resume diplomatic relations.

And official Chinese media reported that President Xi Jinping said that the two countries will firmly support each other on issues related to each other’s core interests, and make contributions to support peace, stability and development in the Middle East.

While oil giant Saudi Aramco earlier this week boosted its multibillion-dollar investment in China with the two biggest deals announced since President Xi’s visit to Saudi Arabia in December last year; Where he attended a summit with the leaders of the Arab Gulf states.

It is expected that the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran will meet during the current month of Ramadan, following the Riyadh and Tehran agreement, following talks in Beijing to resume relations between them.

On the other hand, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, made a phone call “Monday” with the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, during which they reviewed the brotherly relations between the two countries, and ways to strengthen and develop them.

The contact also discussed means of cooperation to enhance the strategic partnership within the framework of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common concern.
