And the Russian delegation to the Istanbul talks announced, on Tuesday, that Moscow would “dramatically” reduce its military activity in northern Ukraine, including the areas near Kyiv, after “useful” talks with the Ukrainian delegation.
“Since talks on preparing an agreement on the status of a neutral and denuclearized Ukraine have moved to a practical stage … a decision was made to radically reduce military activity in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions,” said Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin.
The head of the negotiating delegation, Vladimir Mendesky, confirmed that “useful discussions” were held in the talks, adding that the Ukrainian proposals would be conveyed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and said that Putin could meet his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.
