Turki Al-Sheikh’s endeavors restore the glow of the most famous Gulf comedy after an 11-year hiatus
The artistic community in the Arab world is awaiting the return of the Saudi series “Tash Ma Tash” in a new look during the coming month of Ramadan, after the efforts of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Entertainment in Saudi Arabia, Counselor Turki Al Sheikh, to restore the glow of the most famous comedy series in the Gulf.
Turki Al-Sheikh wrote a tweet on his account on “Twitter”, accompanied by a picture of the artists Nasser Al-Qasabi and Abdullah Al-Sadhan: “Preparing for (Tash Ma Tash), God willing, next Ramadan with the giant (mbc).” With this step, the two comedians will return to work in “Tash Ma Tash”, after they separated after its hiatus since 2011.
The head of the Entertainment Authority had announced in 2019 the return of the Saudi duo, but the Covid-19 pandemic postponed that.
It is expected that this announcement will raise the pace of preparations for all upcoming Ramadan series, at least in the Gulf race, especially since the series is still strongly present in the conscience of followers in the Gulf region and many Arab countries, after it became famous for 28 years in which the duo presented most of the details that mimic Saudi society in a cynical manner.
The opinions of the followers were divided on the return of the series after these years of hiatus, as some saw that today there is a difference in the lifestyle in Gulf and Arab societies in light of the predominance of technology and speed in performance and achievement, but others said that they are betting on the topics that will be raised and how to address them.
