Shanghai city authorities have erected fences around apartment buildings that have recorded infections with the Corona virus, which has increased the discontent of the city’s 25 million residents, with the closure measures.

And people in white clothes closed entire streets in Shanghai, by extending green fences about two meters high, according to pictures circulated on social networks on Saturday evening.

Reuters reported that most of the barriers were set up around the buildings that were classified as “closed areas”, which are the buildings in which it was discovered that at least one person was infected with “Covid-19”, and therefore its residents are forbidden to leave, as part of a “strategy.” Zero Covid”, which the authorities are pursuing to curb the spread of the virus, in the worst outbreak in two years.

And the local government in Shanghai said yesterday, Sunday, that 39 injured people were recorded in the city the day before yesterday, up from 12 the day before.

Shanghai is making unremitting efforts to provide fresh food to people isolated in their homes, while patients have reported difficulty in accessing regular health care, at a time when thousands of health workers have been deployed to conduct examinations and provide treatment. Health officials warned of the risks posed by “Covid” in particular to the elderly and the unvaccinated population in the majority, and said that the average age of the deceased as a result of the virus outbreak in Shanghai is 81 years, and 5 of the deceased were not vaccinated, knowing that the authorities stated that the deaths include People who were ill and in critical condition.

Doubts have been raised about the efficacy of vaccines manufactured in China, given that Beijing has not imported any vaccines manufactured abroad.

Meanwhile, the authorities in Beijing said that they had recorded 22 new infections, at a time when the authorities closed a residential complex in the city center, with the authorities declaring a “bleak” situation. Health official Pang Xinghu said preliminary data indicated that Covid was “spreading invisible” in the capital for a week, “exacerbating concerns about the difficulty of control and control.”
